Telegram Wallet is a reliable and convenient way to buy USDT on a P2P platform. It allows you to quickly and securely exchange cryptocurrency using the familiar Telegram interface. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to purchase USDT tokens using the Telegram Wallet.
Step 1: Installing and Registering on Telegram
If you haven’t installed the Telegram messenger yet, download it from the App Store or Google Play. Registration is done via your mobile phone, so you’ll need to enter your phone number.
Step 2: Registering in the Wallet
You can access Telegram Wallet directly from the settings menu.
Click on the wallet icon to open it. The wallet interface is user-friendly and intuitive.
Scrolling down the list of assets, you will see your transaction history displayed below.
Step 3: Completing KYC Verification in Telegram Wallet
Before purchasing USDT, you’ll need to go through a verification process.
Telegram Wallet has a three-tier KYC system: “Basic Level,” “Extended,” and “Advanced.” To start, you need to obtain the “Basic Level.” You can then proceed to “Extended” and later to “Advanced.”
The levels differ in verification requirements and limits. Here are the details:
- Basic Level. Limit on crypto deposits – 3,500 EUR per day, 35,000 EUR per month. Card purchases – up to 300 EUR per day, up to 5,000 EUR per month. P2P transactions are limited (sales only).
- Extended. Limit on crypto deposits – 100,000 EUR per day, 1,000,000 EUR per month. Card purchases – up to 10,000 EUR per day, up to 25,000 EUR per month. P2P market purchase limit – 100,000 EUR per day, 1,000,000 EUR per month.
- Advanced. No limits on crypto deposits, card purchases, or P2P market purchases.
There are no withdrawal limits in the wallet—you can withdraw as much as you need. There are also no restrictions on P2P sales for the "Basic Level."
How to Obtain the "Basic Level"
For our purposes, having the basic verification level is enough. To start identity verification, go to the Telegram Wallet settings by clicking the gear icon on the main screen.
The settings will open. Click on “Identification Level” to start the KYC process.
A pop-up with brief information about verification will appear. Click "Next."
You’ll see the “Identification Terms” information screen. Read the terms carefully. If you agree, check the box next to “I confirm” and click “Confirm and Continue.”
The wallet will request your phone number linked to Telegram. Click "Next." Your number will be sent as a contact in the chat bot, and the wallet will "read" it. Depending on your messenger settings, a confirmation screen may appear. If so, confirm the contact sharing and click "Next."
On the next screen, enter your full name and date of birth. Fill out the form and click "Submit." Congratulations, you now have the basic KYC level.
Step 4: Buying USDT on the P2P Market
To buy USDT in the Telegram Wallet, click the “+Top Up” button, which is located on the main screen below your balance amount. You will be offered several options: via a bank card (Russian bank cards are not supported), express purchase, P2P Market, or transfer from another wallet.
We will consider the simplest and most universal method — the P2P Market.
P2P Market is a platform for direct user-to-user trading without the exchange acting as a middleman.
So, click on P2P Market. In the window that opens, select “Buy.”
At the top of the screen, you can select the following parameters:
Method — the method of transferring fiat to the seller.
Verification — the seller’s verification level.
Currency — the currency you want to use to buy USDT.
Crypto — the cryptocurrency you want to buy.
Below, you will see a list of available offers. For each offer, the following information is available
- Price per 1 USDT — the purchase rate.
- Number and percentage of successful trades.
- Available amount of USDT from the seller.
- Limits — the minimum and maximum amount the seller can sell to you.
- Payment methods — the available payment options.
Choose the offer that suits you and click "Buy."
A window will open where you need to enter the amount of fiat currency you plan to send to the seller, then click "Buy."
The transaction details window will open. Click "Create order" at the bottom of the screen.
Then, you will need to wait for the seller to confirm the trade.
Once the seller confirms the trade, the seller's payment details will appear on the screen. Send the required amount according to the described conditions. After sending, click the "I made a payment" button.
You will need to upload a bank receipt. Save the receipt to your smartphone and upload it by clicking "Choose File." After uploading the receipt, click "Confirm and Send."
Next, wait while the seller confirms receipt of the transaction. Once confirmed, USDT will be reflected in your balance.
Done! You have successfully purchased USDT. You can transfer it to an exchange, to SMART Wallet, or use it directly to make purchases in USDT.
